THE EQUITY has launched a new feature on its website this week, designed to make our reporting more accessible to people who speak French. Owner/publisher Jon Stewart has developed an AI tool that can make articles we publish available in French, as well as English. Readers will now notice a new little button, just underneath the headline, on all of our articles published since June 1, 2025. Clicking it will flip the text of the article to French.
Much work has been done to the AI algorithm used here to help it understand and remember the nuance of French in the Pontiac. But it is almost sure to still get things wrong. If you notice any translation that seems a bit off, please let us know! You’ll be invited to do so at the bottom of each French article, or you can email support@theequity.ca. Your feedback will help us flag errors and train the system to keep improving.
