Emergency crews responded to a fire call from the Royal Bank in Shawville on April 15 that turned out to be a false alarm. Employees had seen smoke emanating from the ceiling, but when fire crews inspected the building, including the roof, they couldn’t find a source. Fire Chief Lee Laframboise said that they treat possible structural fires very seriously and responded with several vehicles.
