OTTER LAKE Dec. 12, 2020

Though the weather was frightful on Saturday evening, an intrepid band of judges ventured out into the slush to officiate Otter Lake’s fourth annual Christmas decorating contest. With 19 entries this year, the numbers were down a little, but nonetheless . . .

the competition was still fierce.

The event is a collaboration between the municipality, the local 50-plus organization, the RA committee and the fire department, with each donating a portion of the prize money, explained organizer Desiree Tremblay Giroux.

The houses were both in town and out in the country, and there was a wide range of styles and decorations. The judges assessed the entries on a variety of things, from overall theme to creativity.

The top three contestants received $100, $75 and $50 respectively. Contest winners were as follows: First- Crystal and Richard Lance, Second – Sara and Denis Paquette, Third – Vicky Dubeau.

The following evening the municipality held their annual tree lighting ceremony virtually, and a recording of the event is available on their social media account.

Otter Lake residents took part in a Christmas decorating contest that came to a conclusion on Dec. 12. Pictured is the home of first place winners, Crystal and Richard Lance.
Vicky Dubeau’s entry earned her a third place finish.
