Ottawa Valley Country Music Hall of Famers like Gail Gavan recently collaborated in releasing a new album on Dec. 2 titled A Heritage Christmas for Hospice Renfrew. The album was organized by Quyon’s Denny Welburn.

As the title suggests, the goal of the album is to raise money for the Hospice Renfrew.

“With all that’s been happening in the world these last few years, we wanted to share some light and love.” said Welburn, who organized the album, in a press release, “We plan on turning this over to the folks at Hospice Renfrew so that each year they can print more CD’s or just benefit from the awareness we hope to generate on their behalf about their worthy operation”.

Hospice Renfrew is described in the press release “as a six bed fully accredited residential palliative care home located in Renfrew, Ontario. They provide services, free of charge, to all residents of Renfrew County and the nearby area. They provide emotional support for family members before, during and after care at hospice and offer free grief and bereavement services for residents and family members, as well as other residents of Renfrew County.”

“I have friends that are in the hospice. This is a good cause,” said Welburn, who spoke to THE EQUITY about the new album. He mentioned that one of his friends in the hospice was given a short time to live before being admitted to care there, but has gone on to live a lot longer than the doctors originally predicted. “So, they take great care of you there,” he added.

“We would like to thank all the local musicians for donating their time and talents, especially Denny Welburn and Tony True for making this album possible. The money raised from the sales of this album will allow Hospice Renfrew to continue to provide care, comfort and compassion to residents and families along their palliative journey,” said Hospice Executive Director Marjorie Joly in the press release.

Welburn also mentioned a singer who performs with him and lives in the Pontiac named Sue Moffett, who has been working at the Renfrew Hospice for 25 years.

CD’s will be available for $20.00 at select locations in the Renfrew area. The album is also available digitally. Anybody interested can contact Denny Welburn at 613-715-2034 or dennywelburn@yahoo.com or Tony True at www.tonytruemusic.com.

All studio time was donated and proceeds from the CD sales will go to the Renfrew Hospice.
