This photo, courtesy of Pontiac Archives, features what appears to be a 1960s era shot of Shawville Main Street, given the Bank of Montreal clock in the background. Judging from the fact that it appears to be an eatery, it could be Bob Bowen’s Golden Shasta Restaurant. This shows a group of diners being served outdoors in a café type setting. Some of the names have been written on the back of the photograph and they are: Bill Black, son of Allan; Bert Murphy and Bill Pirie. We’d love to have each person identified, names to the faces, so if there are faces that you recognize, we would love for you to send those names to bonnie@theequity.ca and we’ll publish in a future issue.
If you have an old historic photo of Pontiac people or places, please drop your photos off at The Equity office and we’ll publish whatever we can in Moments in Time.
