The MRC Pontiac and Warden Jane Toller will be hosting a virtual information forum at the start of February in the hopes of educating the public about . . .
municipal procedure and encouraging individuals to get involved in local politics. In a public message published to the MRC’s website on Jan. 8, Toller wrote that the first session is scheduled for Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. and attendance will be limited to 30 participants via Zoom videoconference. In an interview with THE EQUITY, she added that if the capacity is exceeded, there will be another session shortly after.
Toller said that the meeting will be a chance for MRC officials to go over some of the basic duties of municipal and MRC-level positions.
“… we will explain the many responsibilities of municipal and regional governments,” the statement reads. “You will learn where your tax dollars are spent, what grants we receive from the government, what our previous priorities have been, and what our new 2030 strategic vision entails.”
Sign up details will be made available closer to the date of the event.
