The Quyon Legion Hall held a “Lower the Heat” fundraiser last Saturday night. The evening started with an open mic and then was followed by a live performance from 6 p.m to 8 p.m followed by a live performance from the band Red Fox.

The purpose of the night was to raise money for a new heat pump for the legion hall in order to offset rising heat costs and reduce the use of their propane furnace.

The night also held a 50/50 draw. At the start of the night the legion had about $4,000 towards their $10,000. The legion plans to hold more events in the near future, including a New Years Eve party at the legion, until they hit their goal.
