From almost weekly concerts to a visit from famous Quebec chef Ricardo Larrivée, Little Red Wagon Winery is wrapping up their eventful spring season and gearing up for an equally busy summer.

On Monday June 13, Little Red Wagon was visited by VanLife Sagas, and Chef Ricardo Larrivée on their tour of Highway 148. The winery was approached by their municipality and VanLife Sagas to tour a secret Quebec celebrity around, and though the Judd’s speculated that their guest was Larrivée, they were not told who it was until . . .

everything was confirmed. Judd explained that “Don from VanLife said immediately, that he had to bring him here.”

Before opening their winery in 2017, owners Jennifer and Scott Judd, saw live music at the Blacksheep Inn over the hill in Wakefield. From this experience, the Judds decided that live music would be perfect for their intimate Clarendon venue. Since then, the winery has hosted countless concerts. At most of their concerts, event-goers have the option to have a full-course meal catered by the winery before the show, or simply enjoy a bottle of wine with the concert.

According to winery tasting-room manager, Emma Judd the goal of their concerts was to provide the community with the opportunity to listen to great new music at an affordable cost as most of the cost of tickets is returned to the artist. Emma explains the importance of concerts by saying “I think showing the community that we have the capacity to do that here and that we can not only celebrate the musicians that are from here, but also bring in talent from outside. It’s really cool to have really good music in Pontiac all throughout the year, not just at the big events.”

The winery will be hosting approximately four concerts per month for the remainder of the summer. As requested by Scott who, according to Emma, wanted more opportunities to play the guitar, the Winery will also be hosting open mic nights on every Friday that they do not have a concert. “Come out and sing a song, play music, tell jokes. We’re happy to hear it all,” said Emma.
