Lacombe announces nine road projects throughout Pontiac over next two years

Mathieu Lacombe, the CAQ minister for the Outaouais, announced the investment of over $212 million into provincial roads in the region on April 12, with some of those funds going to . . .

nine scheduled projects in the Pontiac over the next two years.

In a press release, Lacombe announced that $212,144,000 is being invested “to ensure the maintenance and improvement of road infrastructure” for the fiscal years 2021-22 and 2022-23.

Lacombe said in the release that carrying out these scheduled projects will be crucial to help maintain and create jobs in the region, as well as improving the quality of life for travellers of the Outaouais’ expansive road network.

Within the Pontiac portion of the region, the following projects are scheduled:

Campbell’s Bay, repair of the roadway on Front Street, between Leslie Street and Hwy. 148. Preparation to begin in 2021-22, work in 2022-23.

L’Île du Grand Calumet, rehabilitation of Monseighneur-Martel Bridge on Wilson Road. Work to begin in 2021-22.

Otter Lake, asphalting Rte. 301, between Rte. 366 and Stephens Road. Preparation to begin in 2021-22, work in 2022-23.

Otter Lake, reconstruction of the Polish Hills Road Bridge over the Picanoc River. Preparation to begin in 2021-22, work in 2022-23.

Municipality of Pontiac, reconstruction of culvert on chemin Lac-des-Loups, above Tracey Creek. Preparation to begin 2021-22, work in 2022-23.

Municipality of Pontiac, repair of roadway on Hwy. 148 in four-lane section. Preparation to begin in 2021-22, work in 2022-23.

Portage du Fort, maintenance of bridge on Rte. 301, over Ottawa River. Work to begin in 2021-22.

Thorne, culvert intervention program. Preparation to begin in 2021-22, work in 2022-23.

The breakdown of the funds regionally include $86,736,00 for roads already in good condition, $40,441,000 for structures in good condition, $84,255,000 for an “efficient and secure network” and $712,000 for maintaining structures and culverts located on abandoned railway rights-of-way.
