A house fire in Campbell’s Bay on Dec. 20 caused major material damage but luckily no one. . .
was injured.
The Campbell’s Bay-Litchfield Department received the call at 3:46 p.m. to a home on rue Lunam.
Fire Chief Kevin Kluke said that 17 firefighters responded to the blaze, including a truck dispatched from the Shawville-Clarendon Department. He said the home was heavily damaged by smoke and the cause of the fire remains undetermined.
The son of the homeowner, who is also a firefighter, managed to rescue the dog, and no one was injured.
Kluke said that the department had a busy end to the year with 20 calls in December, including three structural fires and seven road accidents.
“When Christmas came and it got a lot quieter, we were happy for the break,” he said.
