In honour of a former cashier at Giant Tiger who was a big part of the food bank campaign, store manager Brandyn Gauthier, made a donation of $3,750 in her name to Bouffe Pontiac.

born and raised in Quyon, worked at Giant Tiger for many years and always knew how to convince people to donate a few extra dollars to the food bank as it was a cause that was near and dear to her. Her husband, Chris Alexander was present on May 19 to present the cheque in her name to the food bank, as she passed away on February 7, 2022.
“We became friends on the first day. She was such a bubbly, happy person. And that’s how she made us feel,” said Carmen Burke sales associate at Giant Tiger. Although they didn’t know each other for very long, Burke said that, Jennifer left a lasting impression on her.
This fundraiser happened over two weeks during Easter, and her co-workers said they worked extra hard in her honour to raise the funds that Executive Director of Bouffe Pontiac Kim Laroche and Vanessa Lafleur, food service assistant were there to accept.
“She was behind our first ever Food Bank campaign, and she was a driving factor of us raising as much as we did. So without her actually pushing the staff and pushing us to do better, I don’t think we would have ever hit the amounts we had. We really wanted to make this the best donation that we’ve done in the last two years in her memory and we definitely hit it,” said Gauthier.
