CAMPBELL’S BAY

Nov. 29, 2020

Though the annual firemen’s ball could not be held this year, the municipalities of Campbell’s Bay and Litchfield believed it was still important to honour the CBLFD firefighters’ achievements and careers.

A small, informal ceremony was held in the Campbell’s Bay RA in the place of the traditional ball, which was . . .

postponed in May due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was attended by the firefighters and their families, and led by Campbell’s Bay Mayor Maurice Beauregard and Litchfield Mayor Colleen Larivière.

The following firemen were honoured for their many years of service with the CBLFD:

– Sylvain Dubeau, 15 years

– Alain Dubeau, 25 years

– Jean-Pierre Landry, 25 years

– Lincoln Smith, 35 years

“We believed it was very important to have everyone here to celebrate our firemen for their years of dedication,” Beauregard said. “We all know 35 years doesn’t come around everyday in service clubs, and 25 years and 15 years, so we’re very happy to have our guys.”

“I know this has been a particularly difficult year, lots of new adjustments and changes, but congratulations for everything you do, and thank you for everything you do,” Mayor Larivière added.

Beauregard assured the men that they would still get their time to shine at the next ball.
