SAND BAY Nov. 17, 2020
A fire tore through a property on Causeway Road in Sand Bay in the early hours of Nov. 17, though luckily it was prevented from reaching a nearby home.
The Shawville Clarendon Fire Department deployed . . .
12 firefighters and four trucks after they received the call at around 3:20 a.m. to C30 Causeway. When they arrived, the fire was fully involved.
“It was quite a fire when they got there but they kept it from burning the house,” said Chief Lee Laframboise.
Destroyed in the blaze were two vehicles, a side by side, a shed and some other equipment. There were no reported injuries.
The crews quickly brought the situation under control and were headed back to the station in about three hours.
Laframboise said that while the cause of the fire is still under investigation, it started in one of the vehicles.
