A new drive-through window was temporarily installed at the Beau-Soir Dépanneur in Mansfield on Aug. 8, though it looks like a bit of a rush job.
At about 3:30 p.m. last Wednesday, a 32-year-old Quebec woman apparently put her car in drive instead of reverse and sent her white Acura sedan careening into the Dépanneur, striking two display fridges and destroying a shelf full of wine.
According to Sûreté du Québec spokesperson Éloïse Cossette, there was a small child in the vehicle when it struck the building, but thankfully, no injuries were reported. The vehicle’s occupants were taken down the street to the CLSC as a precaution.

Beau-Soir’s owner, Nancy Graveline, had just left work when the accident occurred, and watched the replay on the store’s security cameras.
“I had three employees and two customers [in the store],” she said. “She came right in the store pretty hard. My fridges [were] thrown three feet. It was a bad spot, because it was all the red wine.”
Reached on Aug. 13, Graveline said that her insurance is covering the accident but she is still in the process of calculating the amount of damage.
“I’ve just started to get my estimates, I don’t have a clue how much it’s going to cost, but it’s going to be a fair amount of money,” she said.
