The Equity

Dear Editor,

I read with disappointment in the latest edition of THE EQUITY that Campbell’s Bay will be losing their library. The library in . . .

any community is the focal point for resources, good literature and education. I know that the internet has taken over information of all topics but it does not replace the feeling of holding a book and devouring the information given by the author.

I know from experience the staff at the Campbell’s Bay library have been very helpful and resourceful to find any author. If they could not find it in their building they would quickly check the libraries in the area for a certain title or author. A public library offers so much and the loss to any community of their resource centre is unfortunate.

I will miss the great selection of books they offered and the excellent staff that was always eager to accommodate. What will be the next public service deemed not necessary?
