Local favourite Ransom is set to take the stage on Sunday, Sept. 5 at the Shawville fair.
The band has been together in various incarnations for the past 10 years.
In an interview with the Equity Arnold Trudeau lead vocalist and acoustic guitarist said COVID had been a difficult time for the band. For various reasons he lost two guitar players and is about to lose his bassist. But still the band keeps plugging on.
Trudeau is the only band member from the area and lives in Quyon while the rest of his bandmates are from Ottawa.
The band plays mostly country, Brooks and Dunn, Garth brooks, but delves in classic rock like CCR and the Eagles too.
The Shawville Fair will be the first live show the band has played since the start of COVID. He has spent years performing and has always been comfortable on stage, but with large gap in performances he isn’t so sure.
“When you’ve been offstage for over a year and a half, it feels like we just kind of starting over again, you know?”
Trudeau has been coming to the Shawville Fair since he was a child.
He grew up with many of the people he sees at the fair. “You get to see people that I used to go to high school.” For him the Shawville Fair is like coming home.
Ransom will perform Sunday night at 7 p.m.
