The day curlers held their year-end banquet at the Shawville Curling Club on April 11, celebrating the wins, the losses and all the near-misses that took place over the season.
After enjoying a scrumptious dinner catered by Café 349, the crowd settled in for the annual comedy set from resident comedian Basil Hodgins, who rattled off Newfie jokes and racy nursery rhymes like some sort of deranged auctioneer.
Stu Stark and Wayne Park, after an introduction from Mary Ann Abrams, led the presentation of the awards and trophies.
Winners were as follows:
Monday, first draw: Bill Smith, Basil Hodgins, André Barré and Terry Frost.
Tuesday, first draw: Basil Hodgins, Bob Simpson, Robert St-Amour and Cheryl St-Amour.
Thursday, first draw: Denis Boucher, Fergus Wrinn, Bob Simpson, Laurie Barber.
Monday, second draw: Bill Smith, Peter Haughton, Fergus Wrinn and Dalton Cluff.
Tuesday, second draw: Fergus Wrinn, Fern Laliberté, Robert St-Amour and Cheryl St-Amour.
Thursday, second draw: Albert Armstrong, Ron Tanguay, Mary Ann Abrams and Linda Gilmore.
Arnold Ireland Trophy: Stewart Stark, Peter Haughton, Bob Simpson and Terry Davies.
Alaire-Deering Trophy: Basil Hodgins, Phyllis Wilson, Dalton Cluff and Lucienne Lasalle.
Bean Can Trophy: Denis Boucher, Réné Cousineau, Mary Ann Abrams and Linda Gilmore.
