The Mayor of Fort-Coulonge, Christine Francoeur confirmed the date of the by-election to replace the vacancy on the municipal council caused by the loss of Lucie Boisvert, who passed away on October 31, 2022.

Sunday February 26, 2023 will be the day of the by-election day if more than one candidate is running. An early voting day will be held one week before on Sunday February 19, 2023.

Fort-Coulonge residents interested in running for the vacant councillor position will have a two-week period (between Jan. 13 and Jan.27, 2023) to complete all the paperwork and get the information to submit their candidacy directly at the municipal hall. The final deadline is on the Jan. 27 at 4:30 p.m.

The new councillor will be in position until the next general municipal election in November 2025.
