BRYSON Sept. 14, 2019

Early Saturday morning, a local man was arrested after he cut off a police cruiser near Bryson and then tried to flee . . .

when the officers pursued him.

Just after 1 a.m., a 30-year-old man blew through a stop sign on chemin Wilson outside of Bryson, forcing the officers travelling on Hwy. 148 to brake hard and perform an evasive manoeuvre to avoid hitting his vehicle, a Toyota Corolla.

The driver refused to stop and led the cops on a short chase that ended at the man’s residence on chemin Moorhead, where he crashed into a tree and tried to escape into the woods on foot, before quickly being detained.

He appeared at the Gatineau Courthouse on Sept. 16 and could face charges of impaired driving, refusing to stop, flight from a peace officer and dangerous driving.
