Casting cares

Casting cares

The Equity

As a young girl, my dad sometimes took me fishing. I so wanted him to be pleased with me, that I even put my own worm on the hook just like my brothers. He showed me how to cast my line out. I don’t remember catching any fish though. My joy came from spending time with my dad.

Recently, I listened to a talk about casting my cares and unwanted thoughts away. It’s a different type of casting and it is very good advice. When a random thought comes into our head, we can mull it over and even dwell on it, but many thoughts waste our time, and do not provide good information. Did I say the right thing? Will I look stupid if I try? On and on they go. These thoughts can fill our mind, take away peace and act like clutter on the counter. Best to remove them. Cast them away, and think the good thoughts God has provided in His word. I Peter 5:7 “cast all your anxiety upon Him for He cares for you.”
