On a busy section of Hwy. 148 near Shawville, a car drove into a deep ditch. Late on the morning of June 30, a vehicle came up too fast behind another stopped vehicle turning into the Giant Tiger parking lot. The car flipped as it tumbled into the approximately six foot deep bank.
In an interview with The Equity, Shawville Fire Chief Lee Laframboise said, “a lot of accidents happen in this particular section of the highway.” The vehicle driver was completely unharmed, and the passenger suffered a minor injury when exiting the vehicle.
