The finale of TVA’s La Voix aired on Oct. 18, with Fort Coulonge resident Michaela Cahill riding the wave all the way to the end.
In the season finale, the four finalists were each asked to sing a song that meant a lot to them. Cahill performed a soulful rendition of Imagine by John Lennon. She chose this song in light of . . .
the the situation of the world, for everyone who is feeling vulnerable and who are not able to hug their loved ones.
In a studded black dress, she gave her final performance on the stage she once called “a second home” in front of the judges, a small audience, and a live feed of her family at home on a big screen in the back of the theatre.
“When I started La Voix, I had a goal. To show my girls and all the young moms out there that it’s never too late to chase your dreams,” Cahill wrote in a post on Facebook. “I think I accomplished that. I am so unbelievably proud of my journey.”
Cahill ended her time on La Voix with several powerful performances with both her coach Marc Dupré as well as established artists such as Tyler Shaw.
The night also saw previous contestants return for one final hurrah.
Cahill ended the night with a total of 17 per cent of audience votes. The winner, Josiane Comeau of team Coeur-de-Pirate, won the competition with a total of 59 per cent.
She was thankful for the adventure and wrote that Marc was the best coach.
She has been extremely appreciative of the support she has gotten from the Pontiac and encouraged people never to give up on their goals.
“Do not ever be afraid to chase your dreams. The sky is the limit.”
