On May 15, members of the Catholic Women’s League (CWL) at Immaculate Conception Church in Bryson celebrated the group’s 80th anniversary with a special mass. The group’s treasurer, Betty Malony, explained that the group fundraises for the parish and helps out in the community.
She explained that when the group was founded in 1938, they had 44 members, nearly double their current membership.

She added that there were several new and veteran members being recognized by the group with pins denoting their length of service. CWL President Sue St. Pierre was pleased with the new faces in the group.
“It’s always nice to see new members,” she said, adding that some of the longest serving women have been with the group for over 60 years.
Following the service, the group took part in a potluck supper.
