A woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries following a . . .

single vehicle accident in Bristol last Tuesday.

Emergency crews were called to the scene, near 117 chemin Bristol Mines, just before 1:30 p.m. on July 7. Two trucks from Bristol, as well as an equipment truck from the Shawville Clarendon Fire Department containing the Jaws of Life, were dispatched but according to Bristol Fire Chief Kevin Kluke, the victim was able to escape the vehicle without mechanical extraction.

Shawville Clarendon Fire Chief Lee Laframboise, who also attended the scene, said that when gravel roads get dry, they can become treacherous and added that speed could have also played a factor.
