The Never Old Bikers, a not-for-profit motorcycle club, held a biker rally on Saturday in Otter Lake. During the rally, there was live music, a bike show where the best bikes in each category are voted on and a biker rodeo, in which participants played various games.

“We get together and we just party, live bands and all that. We don’t charge . . .

anything,” said Chris Sauve, President of the Never Old Bikers.

The two bands that played at the rally, Abstract and Shag and Reggie, both donated their time to the rally.

There were also vendors selling biker lifestyle gear and free camping around the RA. There was a 50/50, with half the proceeds going to the club.

The rodeo saw five participants compete in various challenges with partners, such as trying to attach a clothespin to a clothesline on the back of a moving bike, trying to knock ping pong balls off pylons from the back of a moving bike while being sprayed by water guns, and a game called “honey I’m home,” where the biker would lay on mattress with one of the female rally spectators, and would have to get up, put his shoes on, escape through the window to his bike after the host yelled “honey I’m home.” The winner was the person who crossed the finish line with the fastest time.

The rally’s sponsors were Rumours Restaurant in Otter Lake, Bretzlaff Store in Ladysmith, Johnson Motorsports in Danford Lake, Rush Machine, Dyno and the Municipality of Otter Lake.

All the proceeds from the club go to support food banks and hospitals in the Ottawa Valley at the end of the year, according to Sauve.

This is the first time the rally could be held since the start of the pandemic.
