Well, Mother Nature had her way again and we lost out. She is the boss. At least we had Saturday. I hope it didn’t dampen things too badly at Shawville Fair.
For those of you who are not on social media I can give you the final results of our profits for the Summer Festival. Our total net profit was $14,627.80. I say wow and thank you to all who came out and supported us. We truly appreciate it.
I personally want to thank my friends who took shifts and gave me some down time in the financial part of it. You guys never let me down and yes my husband played a big role this year in helping me. Thanks to all.
Cletus Ferrigan deserves to be be thanked. He by himself did the 50/50, sold every ticket himself and made us a clear profit of $900. The winner was Gerry Graveline.
You did it again Tim Ferrigan and we thank you. The downtown is on it’s way to fulfillment.
Members of Bill and Corrine Clark’s family were in the area this past weekend for the interment of their mother’s ashes. Their daughter and sons from Vancouver were in the shop on Saturday.
Father Ghislain is facing a medical issue while in the Congo which will delay his return to us. We need to keep him in our prayers and wish him a speedy recovery.
St. John’s Parish supper is on Sunday. Please make an effort to support it as we need funds for the long winter months. It’s turkey and ham with all the trimmings and homemade pies. It is held at the church in the hall downstairs. Everyone is welcome and we will be doing the draw on the quilt that we have been selling tickets on. If you don’t have a ticket yet we will be selling at the door.
I guess we will soon be seeing the leaves colouring in all their beautiful shades and we will be driving around looking and admiring all the beauty. Don’t forget what comes next, all the naked trees and you with rake in hand thinking they were much nicer when they were on the trees. That is what happens in the land of four seasons.
The men are already talking hunting and the big buck that will not get away this year.
