Our sympathy to the family and friends of David Holmes who passed away Aug. 20 at the age of 67. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
St. John’s Lutheran Church held their memorial service last Sunday followed by a supper. The service was conducted by Rev. John Jacobs. Roy Bretzlaff supplied the music. Jennifer Mielke sang “How Great Thou Art” which was just beautiful.
The church looked lovely with flowers, some of which were from recent funerals, arranged by Marlene Pasch who always takes care of the decorating. The cemetery looked nice too with flowers placed on the graves of loved ones. The supper that followed was held at the T.C.R.A. and it was well attended and enjoyed by everyone. It was nice to visit with old friends and relatives.
Get well to Armelle Pasch who hasn’t been feeling well lately. We wish Armelle a speedy recovery.
This coming weekend the Shawville Fair begins. We hope the weather is as nice as last weekend’s was.
This hip replacement that I was to have last Monday was cancelled. I was very disappointed to say the least and they could not even give me a new date. The reason for the cancellation was that they are having a lot of emergencies.
Happy birthday to Krista Brown, Benny Zimmerling and Marilyn Campeau who all celebrate on Aug. 30. Happy birthday to Marlaine Palmer on Sept. 2.
Happy anniversary to Morag and Jim Stevenson on Sept. 2, to Shirley and Roy Thoms on Sept. 5 and to Norma and Bob Charette on Sept. 5 as well.
I wish you all a happy and safe Labour Day weekend.
