Congratulations to Leigh Dolan and Matt Greer who recently got engaged. Best wishes are also going out to Kendra Kearns and Travis Johnston as they too recently got engaged. Their families and friends are wishing the happy couples all the best as the planning begins.
On Aug. 11 the gang from Mountainview Turf headed to Dunnderosa Golf Club in Old Chelsea for the annual company golf tournament. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed a delicious barbeque dinner after golfing. Prizes were also handed out to each player.

The weather was perfect and it was a wonderful day.
I’d like to send big birthday wishes to my cousin Dillon Draper as he turns six on Aug. 15. We also have birthday wishes going out to Rylie McCann who is turning three on Aug. 17.
Happy 60th birthday to Susan Hamilton with love from her grandkids, Faith, Clark, Everett, Grace and Sam.
Happy birthday to my cousin Kayla MacKechnie and also to Abigail Côté both celebrating on Aug. 21.
Deepest sympathy is extended to the family and friends of David Ayearst who passed away on Aug. 7. A celebration of David’s life was held at Gavan’s Hotel on Saturday with a big crowd gathering to reminisce, sharing stories and fond memories. He will be dearly missed.
Our thoughts are also with the Murray family as we received the sad news that Bryan Murray passed away on Aug. 12 at the age of 74. It is clear from the outpouring of condolences from his colleagues and former players from around the NHL as well as from his friends here at home that he was an accomplished, well-respected and much loved former coach, GM and friend. As an Ottawa Senators fan I was glad to have the pride of Shawville involved with our team for the past 12 years. I will hold dear the several opportunities I had to talk hockey with him over the years when bumping into him at Murray’s Store in Shawville or out and about in the community. I was always impressed with his patience and kindness in listening to a Wade Redden fan’s ramblings. He was a true gentleman. Rest peacefully Mr. Murray. Our prayers are with all of his loved ones.
