On Saturday past, Donovan and Vera Sullivan hosted a family reunion at the farm in Sheen. A large group attended, including cousin Jason Hynes, his wife Fiona, and their two girls from Scotland. A great day of fun was enjoyed by all, thanks to Donovan and his dream for the Sullivan farm. He and his family are great supporters of our community.
The Lions Club of Chapeau held their fishing derby on the weekend. Fifty-eight teams entered and the lucky winners were Richard and Shawn Martin. The brothers won both prizes for total weight and the largest fish. Their fish totalled 18 lbs.
Belated anniversary wishes go out to Aurele and Madeleine Chaput of Demers Centre who were married 55 years on June 16.
On Saturday afternoon a summer bash was held at Bob and Mary Mainville’s cottage. The theme was Elvis and the Presley family all showed up. A wonderful time with lots of laughs.
After Sunday mass in Chapeau we went to the DC Restaurant for breakfast. Donat and I met up with Cynthia Belaire, Helen Davis, and Cathy Paulesse Venasse of Ottawa. We had a nice visit and we were served a great breakfast. Also congratulations to our grandson Kris Ranger who is now working at DC Restaurant. He was also a great help on Canada Day in Sheenboro.
Last week I had a great visit with my family in Listowel, Ont. We finally got to see our latest addition, Alex VanNuland, the first grandchild for my sister Debbie and her husband Jack VanderEyk.
You can attend yoga at the Fort every day at 8:30 am. What a great way to keep in shape this summer.
