The community of Sand Bay gathered for its annual ‘Fun Days’ event over the weekend that saw neighbours of all ages face off in races by foot, kayak, potato sack and even inflated tube.

And the party was not deterred by the weekend’s wet forecast. On Saturday evening, the live music went ahead despite the rain, as did the Amazing Race and sand castle competitions on Sunday.

Team AB Squares were the Amazing Race winners, consisting of Alison Baker, and Alex, Liam, and Josephine Beaudoin.

Undeterred by Sunday evening’s downpour, young cottagers Audrey Templeton, Dominic Smiley, Charlotte Smiley, and Anna Templeton built a 10-foot long cruise ship they named the Sand Bay River Cruise, and as the competition’s only entrants, they claimed first place.
