I just heard a person say, “It’s stinkin’ cold.” I knew exactly what they were feeling. I cannot say I enjoy the continuous cold, but as I thought about it, I remembered that God wasn’t pleased when His people complained in the desert. It was probably ‘stinkin’ hot!
When I complain I feel worse, so I am choosing to be thankful. For snow? No! But I can be thankful for strength to shovel. For sunshine. For people who care. Food to eat. A small cat who keeps me company. It works. God’s way works. When we’re thankful the misery lifts and we are set free to enjoy life again. Try it. It’s worth the effort.
