Saturday morning, car traffic on Main Street in Shawville ground to a halt as 26 small business vendors took over the road for Shop Shawville’s fall market. The perfect weather saw visitors from all over the area browsing the tables for all kinds of goodies.

The initiative was organized by Shop Shawville and Melanie Pieschke, owner of Jolie Folie on Main Street. The money paid by vendors to participate in the market will go towards Shop Shawville’s ongoing efforts to “activate Main Street and Shawville to benefit our small businesses,” according to Pieschke.

Pieschke planned her business’s first outdoor tent sale to align with the street market.  She said she was happy to see a good turnout for both the tent sale and the street market.

“We have a pretty supportive community,” Pieschke said. “It’s been amazing.”
