Dear Editor,
On April 18, I was taken to Shawville Hospital by ambulance where I ended up being a patient until May 27. I received excellent care, although I realized the nurses are overworked.
Shortly after my admission I realized that my hearing aid for my right ear had disappeared. It had never been found and I had discussed with the local hearing aid clinic about a replacement.
I was given a quote but at the same time was told that it might not be compatible with the hearing aid in my left ear.
On Aug. 20, I received a call from the hearing aid clinic to say that someone from our hospital had turned in a hearing aid that had been found there. They had checked the serial number and discovered it was my hearing aid.
I am very thankful to the person who found it and turned it in.
I am also thankful that we have such a wonderful hospital in Shawville as I also had numerous X-rays, EKGs, scans and ultrasounds during my stay there. We need these technicians and let us hope that we will be able to have them in the future.
