Tourism operators from across the Pontiac gathered at Pine Lodge in Bristol on Friday evening for a screening of the latest episode in the Lake 2 Plate video series, produced to help promote tourism in the Pontiac by appealing to the pleasures of catching and eating fresh fish.

The event was convened by the Pontiac Tourism Association as part of its . . .

Explore Pontiac campaign. Its president, Robin Judd, welcomed guests that included operators in catering, organic farming, cross-country skiing and hospitality, among others.

The latest episode of the video series features host Dee Brun ice fishing with Jodi Thompson at Pine Lodge in Bristol, taking a tour with Peter Haughton of Haughton’s Bay Museum, also in Bristol, visiting with Emma Judd at Circa BnB in Shawville (slated to open in spring 2023), stopping by the Brennan Recreational Farm in Sheenboro to do some more ice fishing with John Brennan on Manny Lake, picking up some refreshments from owner-manager Mike Chaput at L’Ancienne Banque (Old Bank) brewery in Chapeau, and helping to prepare a trout dinner with chef Robert Belanger at the Salon de Thé at the George Bryson House in Mansfield.

The video, the fourth in a series that present a total of 16 Pontiac venues, can be viewed at https://youtu.be/JfKvotGcf-I

SADC Pontiac is one of the supporters of the Lake 2 Plate video project. SADC president, Rhonda Perry, was at Friday’s screening event. In her comments to the gathering, Perry brought news of what promises to be a significant new funding opportunity for Pontiac tourism businesses and operators that she says will be announced in the new year.

A delicious array of snacks was laid on for the evening by Jodi and Adam Thompson, owners and gracious hosts of the historic Pine Lodge.
