A special gala was organized last Saturday afternoon at the École secondaire Sieur-de-Coulonge in Mansfield-et-Pontefract for the graduation of a total of 40 students.
The host of the event, Jean Ouellet, recognized all of the students’ efforts since kindergarten, though especially in the last two years with the interruption caused by COVID-19 restrictions. Ouellet also took the time to recognize all the good work from the teachers and school personnel that helped this group to graduate.

only had good things to say about the class of 2022.
Javier Morin, from Mansfield, received the Governor General’s Medal given to the student with the best overall marks through his last two years in high school. He also was awarded the medal called Forces Avenir for exceptional level of engagement.
Alexandre Bourque also received a Forces Avenir medal to recognize his high level of perseverance. Of the class of 2022 almost 90 per cent of the students managed to obtain an overall average of 75 per cent or more.
A total of $32,000 was given in more than 50 scholarships coming mainly from local businesses, professionals, and local governments. Every student was recognized. An estimated 200 people attended the ceremony that ended with the classic throwing of the graduation caps.
