Looking for a local market to showcase the area’s talent, William Bastien and Cathy Bastien started their own outdoor market welcoming any vendor who has a product to sell.

“It’s for people that don’t have anywhere else to sell their stuff or are just looking for . . .

a nice little casual market to sell their stuff,” said William.

They pride themselves on keeping it at a low cost and flexible for the vendor. The season price is $20 and vendors are not locked in to come in every week which allows for more flexibility, William highlighted.

After being part of the Street Market in Shawville they noticed people were looking for something more on a weekly basis here in the area and to also promote local talent. They also welcome anyone from neighbouring areas, and their number one rule is “be nice” they both said.

The market is held at the Shawville fairgrounds (outside the poultry building). The market will be held the first and third Saturday of each month. Open July to mid-October from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Lorie Nesbitt was showcasing her daughter Shauna Mckenna’s products at the market made of wool from her farm.
