The Shawville Fair board hosted a ladies night at the fairgrounds on Friday night in order to fundraise for this year’s fair.
The theme of the event, which was titled: Ladies Night 2022 – Everything Old is New Again – Fashion thru the Decades, was for attendees to . . .
dress up in a style from their favorite decade.
The event started at 6 p.m and gave attendees the opportunity to drink and talk to the assorted vendors gathered at the event.
One vendor, Rebecca Mitchell said she was excited to be there.
“I am selling crocheted items. So, all different types of things from dish cloths, to teddy bears to potholders, blankets, everything you can imagine.”
Mavis Hanna, Shawville Fair board member said that she expected between 160 and 180 ladies to attend.
“It’s something that we’re hoping that people enjoy and gets people out and there’s a good group here so far, ‘’ said Hanna at the start of the night.
At 7 p.m Ed Fernandez, a Canadian comedy hypnotist and mentalist performed a show, and following that, prizes were given out to the best dressed.
This is the first time the ladies night has been held since the beginning of COVID-19 and the money from the event will go to the upkeep and maintenance of the Shawville Fair.
