The first meeting of the council of the Municipality of Pontiac since the November 7 election was held in the community center in Luskville last Tuesday evening.

Newly-elected Mayor Roger . . .

Larose began the meeting by introducing his colleagues on council, of which two (Councillors Amyotte and Dagenais) are re-elected incumbents, and four (Councillors Allen, Lacasse, Laforest and McCann) are new to the table.

“We’re all open to make a change, and there’s lots to do,” said Mayor Larose in a conversation with The Equity after the meeting.

Larose himself is back in office for a second term as mayor. He was first elected to the position in 2013 when he beat the previous mayor, Eddie McCann. He then lost to Joanne Labadie in 2017, only to beat both McCann and Labadie in 2021.
