As a business owner that’s been serving her community for years, Rhonda Meisner, current owner of Stedmans V&S, throws an annual invite-only Ladies Night as a thank you to her . . .
female shoppers while providing discounts and a day to hang out, drink wine, eat cheese and get a head start on Christmas shopping with their friends.
For Meisner, this event is important to her because she wants her customers to know she values their continued support. “You don’t always get a chance to say thank you to everybody, so this is what this is for me. It’s just a kind of a giveback,” said Meisner.
This year due to COVID restrictions, Meisner organized it in three-time slots with 30 people shopping per hour before a new group came in.
Meisner, who has been running the store for nine years is so grateful for everyone’s support. “I’m just happy that [they] showed up.”
Linda Vowles, who has been coming out to this event for the past two years was there with her cousin Marry Rischke all the way from Sudbury. Rischke said she enjoyed the selection at the store as it was her first time. Vowles, on the other hand, loved that she was able to get some Christmas presents for her grandchildren.
One thing Meisner was grateful for was her friends who have been supportive. Janet Mccord and Kellie Keon, who were there among friends serving snacks and wine, said it’s a way for them to just get to see everyone and chat and catch up with their girlfriends.
“They just come and help. I don’t have to do anything. I don’t even ask anymore. They just asked me when… I’m very lucky,” said Meisner.
