The Santé Publique stated last Friday that there were two confirmed cases of COVID-19 at the Shawville Fair on Sept. 4, 2021.

Unvaccinated performers, technicians, and anyone else who may have been in contact with them were asked to self-isolate immediately until at least September 14. They should also schedule an appointment for a COVID-19 test.

Performers, entertainers, technicians, etc. that have been double vaccinated before Aug. 28 should also schedule a COVID-19 test.

Reached for comment, Fair Board member Josey Bouchard said that all attendeess’ vaccination status was checked at the door. Due to “Quebec labour law, “ contractor employees’ and volunteers’ vaccination statuses were not checked.

During last month’s initial rollout of Quebec’s vaccine passport system, Quebec Health Minister Christian Dubé confirmed that employees at places such as restaurants would not be required to prove their vaccination status, even though their customers would.
