Fire Department gives back to local youth

On Friday morning, the Shawville-Clarendon Fire Department brought a fire truck to the fairgrounds to help teach children about fire safety. Firefighter Paul Emmerson gave safety tips, answered questions, let children go inside the fire truck and even let them hold fire gear to help them understand the equipment’s weight. He noted that they especially liked sitting in the front and pretending they’re driving. “It’s all about the kids, seeing them entertained and informed,” said Emmerson.
