A motorcyclist driving north on Hwy 303 lost control and went into a ditch near Johnson lake in the early afternoon last Saturday.

“I think [they] lost control and then hit the traffic sign and went into the ditch,” said Shawville-Clarendon Fire Chief Lee Laframboise. “It was a deep ditch, 25 feet down or something.”

Laframboise said firefighters from Shawville-Clarendon, Otter Lake and Thorne arrived at the scene and removed the motorcyclist on a stretcher. The motorcyclist was taken by ambulance to the Pontiac Community Hospital in Shawville with unknown injuries.
