Environment Canada issued a special air quality advisory due to increased smoke from fires raging in Western Canada on July 20.
Affected areas start from Fort William in the north all the way south to Shawville. Rapides des Joachims is also affected.
Increased smoke in the air is reducing air quality and hindering visibility, though the smoke is expected to dissipate following evening rain.
The statement said, “Individuals may experience symptoms such as increased coughing, throat irritation, headaches or shortness of breath.”
Children, seniors, and those with lung or heart problems are especially at risk.
