Hello everyone, my name is Jorge Maria and I am a new full-time reporter for The Equity. I come to the paper from Algonquin College’s journalism program. My most recent work has appeared in the Ottawa Business Journal.

Writing and journalism have been a passion since. . .

I was very young. My life has taken many twists and turns over the years and it is only recently I have been able to pursue a career in journalism. The Equity and this community, in very real terms, has made a life long dream come true. I’ve only been here less than two weeks, but in that time I have met so many of you. I have been treated with kindness and welcomed into this unique community.

I look forward to meeting more of you in the coming months.
