Pontiac June 7, 2021

The Pontiac service area (RLS) had 15 active cases as of June 7, an uptick of two cases from last Monday’s total. Meanwhile, the Pontiac’s total number of cases since the pandemic began stood at 366, which is a weekly increase of 14.

École secondaire Sieur de Coulonge will be closed until June 21 due to several cases of COVID-19 popping up over the past few days among students. According to a letter from the Centre de services scolaire des Hauts Bois de l’Outaouais, the closure is due to community transmission and it was effective as of June 7. This closure means that students will shift to virtual learning up to and including June 21.

Regional active figures continue to trend downwards, as the Outaouais had 112 active cases (12,283 total, 11,957 recovered) as of June 7, down 67 from May 31. There were just three hospitalizations at the designated COVID-19 centre in Hull, down from nine last week, with one person in intensive care. The regional death toll did not rise from last Monday, and it stood at 214 as of June 7.

Within the RLS Pontiac, the CISSSO listed the following cumulative numbers on June 7*:

  • Municipality of Pontiac: 127 (no increase)
  • Mansfield et Pontefract: 92 (+4)
  • Fort Coulonge: 44 (+3)
