Pontiac students in the Western Quebec School Board (WQSB) switched to online learning from June 7 to June 9, with Monday and Tuesdays decision being due to extreme heat forecasts, while Wednesday is being targeted for strike action . . .

In a June 4 letter sent out to parents, students and staff, WQSB Director General Mike Dubeau said that the decision for Monday and Tuesday was made because of the extreme heat expected in conjunction with “the special sanitary circumstances of the current COVID-19 pandemic.”

With strike action planned for the morning of June 9, for non-teaching professionals only, virtual learning will begin at noon on that day.
