As the vaccination process continues and the province’s gradual reopening plan continues, CISSSO media relations agent Marie-Pier Després revealed that the regional health authority is looking to get ahead of schedule with regard to completely vaccinating people who are eligible to receive a second dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
“The vaccination for the second doses of AstraZeneca will be available from Saturday, May 29 at all vaccination sites in the region for people who have received a first dose of the vaccine before April 3. A delay of eight weeks is prescribed between the two doses,” Després wrote in a May 28 email.
Those who are eligible to walk-in for their second AstraZeneca dose can do so at the Campbell’s Bay RA Centre during the following time slots:
Wednesday- 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Friday- 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday- 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Pontiac service area (RLS) had 13 active cases as of May 31, which is one more than the May 24 total. The Pontiac’s cumulative total stood at 352, an increase of 11 from last week.
The Outaouais had 179 active cases (12,201 total, 11,808 recovered) as of May 31, a decrease of 59 from last Monday. There were just nine hospitalizations at the designated COVID-19 centre in Hull, a decrease of 17 from last week, and no one in intensive care. The regional death toll rose by three for the third week running, and it was 214 as of May 31.
Within the RLS Pontiac, the CISSSO listed the following cumulative numbers on May 31: Municipality of Pontiac: 127 (+2 increase from last week) Mansfield et Pontefract: 88 (+1 increase) Fort Coulonge: 41 (+3 increase) Shawville: 33 (no increase) Campbell’s Bay: 11 (no increase) Waltham: 8 (+1 increase) Otter Lake: 6 (no increase) Bristol, Bryson, L’Île du Grand Calumet, L’Isle aux Allumettes, Litchfield, Portage du Fort, Sheenboro and Thorne: five or less (minimum one case) (It is important to note that none of these figures represent the active case situation)
