Teachers’ strike cancelled amid new negotiations

A province-wide teachers’ strike originally planned for April 27 has been cancelled amid . . .

new negotiation progress.

The unions were not able to speak of the agreement or confirm any deals.

The teachers and the unions representing them have been negotiation to obtain better working condition and an increase in salary. The public sector had been without a contract since March 31, 2020.

The union was able to review what was put on the table on April 15 and 16, but no agreements were made at the time.

A previous stike was held on April 14 from midnight to 9:30 a.m. causing classes and bus schedules to be pushed back.
