Our condolences and deepest sympathies go to the Allard family of Chapeau, Que. on the passing of their mother . . .
Patsy (Merrill) Chugg Allard on April 2. Her funeral took place on April 7 at St. Alphonsus Church in Chapeau.
On March 18, Cpl. Barb Myers, formerly of Sheenboro, was presented with a Quilt of Valour. The presentation took place at the Trenton Legion. Between her and her dad Gordon they have 50 years of service to their country. Congratulations to you, Barb and to your dad.
Betty Morris and I first learned of a Quilt of Valour at a quilt show in Petawawa, Ont. For a small fee, you purchased material to make a square, sewed it up and mailed it back to the quilt group. The ladies had made 1,000 quilts. A very kind and thoughtful gesture to those serving our country.
The Young at Heart Club of Chapeau received a $1,000 donation from the Caisse Desjardins as a tribute to the late Jerome Sallafranque. The Seniors Club was very dear to his heart and so was his Caisse.
Belated birthday greetings go out to Marilyn Walker, Emma Rose Silverson and Ruby Rose Vaillancourt.
Birthday greetings are extended to Carly VanNuland on April 11, Toni Chartrand on April 12, Rita Payne on April 14, Amy Fleury and Anna Sallafranque on April 15, Liam Silverson on April 17 and Tommy McLeese and Jesse Ranger on April 18.
Have a good week and stay safe.
