This past weekend, a new restaurant opened in Quyon much to the excitement of local residents. The Clarendon Street Café is located right across the street from me, in the building that used to be McCann’s Home Hardware. Best wishes to Mitchel Trudeau and his staff. We wish them great success with this much needed business in town. The Café looks . . .

amazing, and the food is excellent. Be sure to stop in and try it out.

Congratulations to Heather Romain and Matthew Hickey, as they welcomed twin boys on March 21. They named their boys Kaden William and Leo Steven and I hear both the new mom and babies are doing well. Wishing them all the best with their double blessing.

This past weekend, family and friends showered Dannah Draper with well wishes and gifts in an outdoor drive-by baby shower at her new home in Luskville. Dannah and Brandon Nugent are expecting a baby girl in the near future. Congratulations to the happy couple and we wish them well as they anxiously await to welcome their little one.

Belated birthday wishes are going out to Ruby Fraser who turned three on March 27. Happy birthday to Glen Leach and his grandson Cameron Bernier, as they share a birthday on April 1. We also have birthday wishes going out to Jenna Rainey-Fleck on April 2, to my buddy Sam Woermke on April 3, to my nephew Noah Young and to Jack Clarke both on April 4 and to Erin Hudson-Brazeau on April 5. Best wishes to everyone celebrating this week.

There will be an Ecumenical Good Friday service held via Facebook Live involving many churches in the Pontiac including the Quyon Pastoral Charge, starting at 11 a.m. on April 2. That service can be found on the Quyon/Wesley United Churches Facebook page if you are looking for a way to connect. Some churches are back to in-person worship while others are still worshipping online. The Quyon Pastoral Charge’s Easter Sunday service will be on-line Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. via Facebook Live.

I hope everyone enjoys a beautiful Easter weekend and that you’re able to find ways to celebrate safely. May the Easter bunny be good to all of you. Happy Easter.
